Expanding & Refining Your Creative Voice
Keron Psillas Oliveira will be offering her seminal five-day class for the first time in a number of years. She will share her award-winning photography, book-making, printing, and editing skills, all in an effort to support your creative vision. Come find out what many students have learned over the years; Keron is a gifted teacher who connects deeply with her students, demonstrating her sole focus of supporting their own exploration. She brings years of teaching experience, both on her own and with the great Sam Abell, to elevate the conversation about what photography is, and importantly, what it is in your life.
Whether photographing horses on three continents, diving deeply into her long-term (16 years!) personal projects, discovering the infinite beauty of flowers, or developing award-winning book projects for herself and many others, Keron brings a singularity of purpose to enhance, expand, and reveal her intent. Come, be part of this conversation.
Interested in improving your compositional skills? Want to learn to be a better editor of your own work? Hungry for a deeper conversation about what photography really is? Need to share a week with students seeking their own inspiration and direction? Come to Keron’s class and be part of and contribute to all these conversations.
Keron will share her books and prints, as well as her luxurious textile work, and all of her insights to expand your own vision for what is possible in your work. One-on-one sessions will give you the opportunity to go even deeper or have questions answered that have been swirling in your brain.
There will be field trips, shooting assignments, image review and critique, and shared meals. All of this in support of your experience on Whidbey Island. There’s a reason that Keron comes all the way from Portugal to teach with us. Well, there are several, but one of them is the natural beauty and nurturing that is present here on the island. This class is for intermediate and advanced students who want to deepen their commitment to their photography and expanding their vision. Basic knowledge of lightroom is needed as is knowledge of your camera functions.
