In this class we’ll take a acrylic plate and prepare it for intaglio printing from an image you’ve made. Learn to transfer it on to the plate. Then, using scratch awls, etching needles, and any thing else that can scratch the surface of the plastic we’ll make images on the plate, ink and wipe the plate for printing. We’ll learn to set up the press, adjust pressure and create a registration layout page. With dampened paper the image is printed onto the it, with the the option of creating an edition of prints.
Materials:
Scratch awls, etching points, sand paper, etching scrapers, anything that will scratch the plastic.
