Students will learn the art of creating hand-made stamps with a variety of materials including both carving blocks and found objects. Using specially formulated inks, the stamps will be used to create printed fabric (these can either be finished items or yardage or both – looking for your input on what would work best for your students.)

In addition to learning how to create printing blocks that produces high-quality results, the class will cover techniques for planning out a design, the art of repeat-pattern printing using multiple colors in a single stamp, and choosing fabrics that produce the best print. Students will have the option of bringing their own 100% cotton shirt to print on or print a yard of fabric provided by the instructor to take home as yardage.
