Instructor Bio: Mitchell Marder is a self-taught encaustic and cold wax artist who has been creating encaustic art for twelve years and currently showing at Whidbey Art Gallery in Langley, WA. He believes that as humans, we share common moments. One of the most special is the wonder that accompanies witnessing a beautiful scene in nature, which often provides a respite from the busyness that can be day to day life. He endeavors to capture, by using materials from nature … His hope is that his art might bring the viewer back to a special time, providing a small reminiscence of that wonder. (via Whid.
