SO… you’re thinking, “I don’t like opera”. Think again. The only thing standing in your way is YOU. This class will introduce you to or reacquaint you with the art form that encompasses ALL art forms. With the help of some “Toon” friends, I guarantee you’ll come away with a new appreciation for this artistic medium.
In the first session, we’ll take a lighthearted look at this musical theater genre over the 300yrs. from its creation in 1600 thru the Romantic period to 1900.
In the second session, we’re “Going to the opera!” Through the magic of the silver screen we’ll watch a full performance of a well-known opera featuring international artists. It’s never too late to experience something new if you’re a neophyte or indulge an old passion if you’re an aficionado! Where else on Whidbey can you do that?
