Mike will demonstrate how to compose scenes from photo reference to create paintings with rich color, depth, and energy. Students will be taught a multi-layered approach from block-in to finish, using techniques such as glazing, dry brushing, palette knife, impasto, scumbling, and a multitude of tools to achieve a three-dimensional feel in your painting. Mike will cover all aspects of picture-making such as drawing, values, color mixing, edges, mark-making, color temperature, and brush/tool selection.
