Nature Landscape: Perception and Communion
Charlie Waite, Instructor
Dates: June 1st – 5th, 2021
Our workshop is primarily centred around two pivotal elements crucial to all photography: ‘perception and communion’. But when applied to our photography, what do these two words mean? We will be exploring both of them in depth. Our photography will be about attending, intending, identifying and ultimately joyfully embracing what we have emotionally and visually fully and wholeheartedly engaged with. The intention is for ALL participants to emerge from the workshop with newly discovered ways of noticing, seeing, interpreting and executing.
Our photography will be about commitment and full immersion and must be given the opportunity to flourish against a background of wonder, devotion, and as much technical know-how as we can muster. With regard to the latter, Charlie will hope to de-mystify the relationship between Aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how best to bring them together to serve our creativity. Focal length of lenses and their specific application will be discussed in a simple digestible fashion.
In conclusion, the workshop will assist in projecting our photography into new realms of discovery and reward which will, it is hoped, accompany us throughout our wonderful ongoing photographic journey.
