This 4-day workshop is about gathering, making, building, stitching, collaging, painting, mark making, and alternative book binding. We’ll be creating sweet and tender little books filled with awe and wonderment, warm nests of gatherings to be cradled in the palm of our hands. We’ll grant our undeniable wish to come into our own, to be joyous, to retreat, to explore our worlds and witness our constant onward movement, to discover and expand through tactile, sensorial, lively, and honest creative gestures, to come together and find newness.

Instructor Bio: Orly Avineri truly believes that the need to be witnessed by the self and by others is a human-core-need to be fulfilled by the act of creating. Therefore, a compelling part of her journey is the teaching of expressive processes in the context of visual journaling, both in the US and abroad. As a young adult she studied Fine Arts in an artists’ village in her native country Israel, and later Graphic Design at the University of Arts in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Now living in the Pacific Northwest, she takes in all the magnificence of the landscapes that shaped her and of the visual languages she has acquired along the way.
