DAY I
Gather, meet and greet with initial presentation and demos
Bamboo warmups
Bamboo practice
Students receive their materials kits for the two days.
We will go over all the elements as well. Q & A
Lunch break 1 hour
Afternoon Practice more of “writing Bamboo” & LANDSCAPE
Finding the essential lines through complex landscape and
Using your travel sketchbook to record them. My Demos.
Techniques taught in the morning session will be developed here.

DAY II
Concepts in Kimono and Ikebana (Floral Design)
will inspire our practice. Understanding color and outline demos.
Students create their own original paintings/writings .
Japanese papers will be explored here as well.
Lunch break 1 hour
Learn more about positive and negative space when we paint/write.
Writing our paintings as poetry is today’s practice.
We will have a chance to view each others works and have a Q & A
At the end of the day to bring it all together. COLOR is emphasized!
