Explore systematic construction techniques for wet felting solid felt forms of spheres, discs,
barrels, cones, hoops and cords. Learn graceful techniques for seamlessly connecting these basic
forms together to make more complex clasps and closures. The appropriate tension and
crosshatched preparation for dry wrapping and needle felting will prepare solid forms for wet
felting to create well-integrated surfaces that won’t pill with wear. Additionally, explore the
integration of partially felted shapes to create more angular forms and defining linear bleed
effects from their cut edges. This skill set can also be used to build complex compositions for
adornment, hanging devices, surface protuberances or purely sculptural form.
