Do you need some stimulus for your shibori practice? Ana Lisa has added new explorations to her shibori arsenal.: easy arashi techniques by distorting the fabric before or after wrapping; arashi pleats in combination with carved blocks; multiple dipping with natural dyes using Itajime; kakishibu persimmon tannin washed with iron for smokey shades of grey and black, Come and explore these techniques! We will alsoresist scour organza and compare direct application with fiber reactive dye and natural dyes.

Finally we will learn how to discharge indigo for shades of brown and cream.
Everyday we will pin fabric to boards and discuss design with a special focus on creating positive & negative space in both patterns and piecing.

Beginners and experienced dyers are welcome.

Ana Lisa will bring traditional indigo dyed Japanese shibori samples, examples of her own work, and books and catalogs to educate and inspire.
