Breen, Ivy (#6393)- Intro to Pastels with Ivy!, November 11-12, 2023

Introduction to Pastels – There is something appealing about experiencing the immediate satisfaction of color in its purest form. That is the glory of soft pastel and this class will walk you through the techniques unique to this painting medium. In this two-day course, you will learn the differences in pastels and papers in a hands-on format. You will have the opportunity to complete two or three landscape paintings as well as learn how to create wet and dry under-paintings and even make your own pastel paper.

Your materials fee pays for a small 32-color pastel set you get to take home with you! You will also have the use of my personal pastels to select the colors you need to complete your landscapes in class as you gain hands-on experience to embrace this exciting art form. All materials are supplied.

There will be four one-day refresher classes taking place every first Saturday of the month, January – April, 2024. These refresher classes require their own registrations and are designed for building upon the skills students will learn by taking this Intro to Pastels workshop. This workshop is recommended but not a prerequisite for taking the Pastels Refresher classes, however, you will need to bring your own supplies to any Refresher class you may want to attend.
