In this workshop we will be creating hollow felt forms using casting techniques . These forms will be enclosed in layers of ephemeral felt with windows exposing the layers beneath. The theme explores the concept of life , growth and metamorphosis.
Instructor Bio
Catherine O’Leary is an Australian fibre artist who uses textiles as a medium to express herself creatively. Trained in Fine Arts, feltmaking, bojagi and designing fabric has been a passion for many years with a special focus on garments and sculptures. Catherine has exhibited widely in Australia and overseas, has a published books called ‘From Felt to Fabric’ and “Felt Forward” and enjoys teaching and meeting other textile artists.
