Experience the beauty of Whidbey Island with award winning Colorado-based photographers, Charles and Melissa Needle. Spend a week exploring new ways of seeing and tap more fully into your inner creative self. Through a variety of classroom lectures, field work and fun interactive exercises, Charles and Melissa will teach you how to see in unconventional ways and photograph without preconceived ideas. Each day, you’ll photograph in a variety of locations on the Island, each one offering unique opportunities to hone your skills and see more deeply. While in the field, Charles and Melissa will teach you how to really observe without your camera first, and then translate your unique vision into pixels.

Techniques you’ll learn include:

• in-camera multiple exposures,
• intentional camera movement,
• post-processing smartphone apps,
• creative macro/closeup photography skills, and much more.

The workshop will include lots of 1-on-1 personalized instruction, field demonstrations and supportive group image evaluations. You’ll leave inspired to experiment to your heart’s content and push image-making boundaries beyond what you ever dreamed possible utilizing your newly acquired techniques and skills.
