Studio Days with Christine
Christine Mauersberger, Instructor
Dates: Monday, September 18th – Thursday, September 21st, 2023 (9am-4pm)
Tuition: $800
Registration: $25
Materials: TBD
Christine can help you bring your ideas to fruition with her broad-based skill knowledge whether it is to stitch onto preserved leaves or create a 3-D hand-cut book. Perhaps you are a collage artist or are working with special Japanese papers, she has worked with many different materials in her fine art practice and has a keen sense of problem solving.
These 4 studio days are whatever you need for them to be. While not for a novice, it is certainly open to those who yearn for time to soak in inspiration and to gather thoughts about where you might want to go in your work.
Approximately one month prior to the workshop, Christine will schedule a one-on-one phone call with you to discuss your goals. After listening to you, she will collect additional support materials in the form of books and supplies that might help you. During the session each participant will receive daily one-on-one and group consultations towards executing their planned art.
Required: Proof of Covid19 vaccination, to be emailed to info@pacificnorthwestartschool.org or mailed to 15 NW Birch St, Coupeville, WA 98239. If you sent in your proof last year, we still have it on file, thanks.
Instructor Bio: Christine Mauersberger is a Cleveland artist who produces complex mark-making narratives in two & three dimensions, from large-scale private and public commissioned works to intimate embroidered pieces. Her process is rooted in the hand-stitching she learned from her mother as a child, reimagined for the Internet age: both analog and digital, a reflection of the natural world, and of what man has done to nature. Her commissions include custom mixed media screen-printed paintings, custom wallpaper, and permanent sculpture installations. Her work is featured in private and public collections, exhibited, and published internationally in Canada, Great Britain, Belgium, and Italy.
