Who doesn’t love the luminosity of beeswax? Imagine creating works of art that you can INVITE others to hold! No need to worry about finger smudges marring your beautiful surface; handling only adds to the luster of encaustic works. Together we will explore the many ways to transform 3D surfaces through the ancient art of encaustic painting, pigment sticks and more. We’ll “play with fire” and create beauty while navigating the tricky challenges of melted wax on curved surfaces. Leave your need for control at home and join us for four days of colorful fun celebrating bees & trees while making stunning art. You’ll be customizing a stool that you can take home with you! Instructor Bio Cheryl Lewis of Nashville, Tennessee, has a rich history in many artistic disciplines and loves cross pollinating! A woodturner who creates art from fallen trees, she is passionate about teaching the many ways to incorporate encaustic painting on 3D forms. An international demonstrator, her work has been shown in galleries across the United States.
