Photographing The Art of Nature
Bruce Heinemann, Instructor
Dates: September 28th, 2019 (9am-4pm)
Materials Fee: $0
Looking is observing something, “Seeing” is experiencing that which is observed at a deeper, more metaphorical way. This is the very essence of landscape photography. This seminar is designed to explore, broaden, and deepen the photographer’s encounter with the landscape in a profounder and more personally satisfying manner that ultimately manifests in the final image.
These are the four areas of exploration:
Seeing is… a greater state of awareness Being is…. our state of consciousness
Thus heightened states of mindful awareness lead to higher states of consciousness and healing, that process of integrating all aspects of ourselves. For what is healing but to be made whole? Art is profound, because above all, it is healing. The bumper sticker is indeed right: “Art saves lives”.
This seminar is designed for intermediate to professional landscape photographers who want to better understand the artist within them, and how to express who they are through the creation of their imagery. A basic understanding of digital post-processing in Lightroom, Capture One, or Photoshop is essential. Technique and composition will not be treated as subjects in and of themselves, but rather as they apply to the images that are being presented and discussed.
