Day 2: The Bounds of a Color; The Power of Subtle Hue Shifts in Creating Forms
Day 3: Value Does the Work, Color Gets the Glory; Abandon Local Color with Intention
Day 4: Analysis of Color Boundaries: Why Some Colors Vibrate, Dissolve or Shapeshift
Extras: You will have access to a digital database of documents and readings to aid and support your journey during and after the class. The following is available for limitless download:
– Optional/additional color exercises to do outside of class
– Reference documents including informative and historic color wheels
Instructor Bio: Amanda K. Hawkins is an award winning painter living and working in Beverly, MA. She received a Masters in Fine Arts in Painting from Boston University in 2021 and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montserrat College of Art in 2014. She is on the Board of Trustees at Rocky Neck Art Colony and shows her work in gallery shows across New England. Amanda teaches painting workshops across North America, including in British Columbia and Arizona, in addition to virtual workshops with an international draw. Her studio blog is shared with over 25K people worldwide and her work can be found in private art collections across the globe. When she’s not painting, Amanda is outside exploring the many landscapes of New England.
