Cobb, David M. (#6307) Glacier National Park, September 14-18

During late September, the snow begins to dust the steep mountains of Glacier National Park, and most of the tourists have gone home. Deer and elk can still be spotted, and bear, moose, bighorn, and mountain goat still roam the park in full view. Beginning on the western side of the park we’ll photograph some of the spectacular scenery along the Continental Divide. Moving to the eastern half, we’ll concentrate on the landscape filled with colorful aspen, hike to spectacular waterfalls and lands dotted with beautiful lakes. For some of the areas we will photograph, plan on occasional light hiking up to 2 miles each way.

We will be staying at the Pine Mountain Motel, September 14 and 15 in East Glacier, Montana, then switching to Saint Mary’s Lodge, September 16 and 17. Instructor Bio: David M. Cobb took the leap and “quit his day job” to devote himself full time to his photographic work after years of capturing images on the Pacific Coast Trail, Continental/Canadian Divide, and recently Iceland, becoming ever more passionate about the art of photography. His particular fondness for the Pacific Northwest is reflected in his local outdoor shots. His goal is to capture the wonders he sees in nature for everyone with an eye for the extraordinary to enjoy. He is a member of Nature First, NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association), and PPA (Professional Photographers of America).
