“Abstraction is a process not a style.” Brian Rutenberg
Working on multiple painting to create a series, this workshop will explore several ways to approach abstract painting with a sense of play and freedom. Starting with line and shape you will learn to incorporate the elements of design into each painting. Through different methods of mark making and the use of color theory and color harmony we’ll begin to refine what we’ve created. Using the principles of design we’ll explore ways to evaluate and bring each painting to conclusion.
Kathleen has been a painter for more than 30 years. Working in both oil and pastel she has received regional and national awards. She is a signature member of both the Northwest Pastel Society, and the Pastel Society of America, and a juried member of Women Painters of Washington. Her paintings have been exhibited on the east coast in New York and New Hampshire as well as throughout the Pacific Northwest.
