Using Metallics and Pigments to Embellish Dyed Creations.
Most of you will have had the opportunity to view, or even handle, exquisitely embellished Japanese textiles. So often these include embroidery and gold leafing, or even gold-leafing over embroidery. In this course we will be discussing a broad range of laminates, including gold, platinum, lacquer, and pigments. John will cover a range of traditional techniques used to apply gold leaf and other precious metals to your woven goods. The materials fee covers everything you will need in class as well as a DVD with hand outs and much more. While the lessons will be taught without the use of actual precious metals (bronze powders and Dutch gold will be used instead), some real gold and silver will be available for purchase for those brave souls who wish to jump right in.
No supplies required.
