Artist Registration: $50
Plein Air Artists! We want YOU this summer for our brand new plein air event open event August 21-25th, 2019 on stunning Whidbey Island. Come paint for three days the beaches, forests, townscapes and vistas that Whidbey affords with an emphasis on Coupeville. We will then celebrate you and the art you have created by holding a Gala, Gallery Exhibition and Sale including awards on August 23rd,2019. Artist Registration is $50. The event is open to all, novice to professional. This event is being co-sponsored by the Coupeville Chamber of Commerce and the Pacific NorthWest Art School and is a fundraiser for both organizations.
The PNWAS will be open the first two days for artist check-in from 7-3 p.m. and 7-noon on the final day for having panels authenticated, waivers signed, maps and other information shared. The school will be the official “rest stop” with a water, restrooms and a rest area available.
*Artist commission is 65%
*There will be a Welcome Artist Barbecue, August 21st, the first night to bring you all together to celebrate you and your art
*Artists can bring and paint up to six panels to be authenticated (that you painted during the two and a half days).
*Artists will be asked to paint in specific areas each day to draw attention to artists and their work i.e. downtown Coupeville, the nearby Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve, etc. Artists will be furnished with postcards promoting the event to give to potential patrons to attend the Saturday evening event to be held at the Coupeville Rec Hall.
*Artists can paint one, two or 2 1/2 days and bring their best art on Friday afternoon to be exhibited and sold.
*There will be a cash awards for Best of Show, Second and Third Place.
*Artists will have option to leave their work up for the weekend to maximize sales.
