Materials Fee: $12
Symbol language exists all over the world, both currently and historically and can be utilized to tell our stories. We will combine symbols from Eastern cultures, Africa, Grafitti, modern artists, calligraphers and mark makers from all of time. We will reinvent and reinterpret these provided symbols to fit our own stories.
You are invited to play with color, paper, texture, paints, and patterns in a room full of other enthusiastic painters. We will use our shells, sticks, sponges, stencils, crayons, pastels, and our imaginations while guided to create unique papers that tell our stories through symbols, signs, marks and creative lines.
The papers end up with layers of lovely textures, while retaining a soft, velvety surface, perfect for making books, text pages, cards and collage. They are stand-alone pieces or can be deconstructed to insert into a book of stories.
